Gianni Soglia was born in Belgium in 1976 and has a degree in Applied Arts and Photography from Saint Luc in Mons. He moved to Paris in 1997 where he worked as an assistant at various studios particularly in the field of fashion photography. He became a professional photographer five years later winning contracts for fashion magazines, advertising campaigns and jewellery catalogues.

His work has given him the opportunity to travel around the world including South Africa, Latin America, the United States, Europe and the Middle East.

It has been on these journeys that Gianni has been able to concentrate on his other great interest, portrait photography.

In March 2006 Gianni had his first solo exhibition “Armenians in Jerusalem” which was held in London.

He published his first book entitled “Souvenirs Pour Mémoire” with Cherche Midi Editeurs in 2009 with part of the benefits going to Alzheimers research. This work involved taking portraits of celebrities including Charles Aznavour, Gérard Dépardieu and Carla Bruni Sarkozi who all shared a memory they would never want to forget.

He is currently working on the second volume of this book.
